History of VDL Staalservice

The roots of VDL Staalservice date back to 1983 with the foundation of Staalservice Weert. In June 1993, Staalservice Weert was acquired by the VDL Groep and in 2003 our name changed to VDL Staalservice. Initially, our work involved simple operations like cutting, bending and punching sheet material. Over the years, other cutting methods were introduced, such as oxy fuel and plasma cutting. In 1986, the first laser cutting machine was put into operation, a pioneering technique at the time. By making such investments, we demonstrate our ability to continuously keep pace with our customers. Since our foundation, we have experienced strong growth. We are no longer a simple sheet-metal working company, but a company that can produce entire welded assemblies. In 1997, VDL Staalservice moved to its current location in Weert. The company now has several departments and has extended and strengthened their competencies with techniques like laser cutting, setting, (robot) welding and assembly. That versatility enables us to proudly call ourselves a total supplier with an excellent reputation within The Netherlands and abroad.
